	AN INTRODUCTION TO CONNECT EUROPE introduction | vision | mission | values Connect Europe is an international community of friends who love Jesus Christ, and try to follow Him in costly obedience. We are a generation that seeks to be empowered and guided by God’s Spirit. We are committed to passionately disciple all nations, bring justice to the poor and oppressed, and start life-giving, reformational movements of prayer, justice, community and missions throughout the continent. We are innovative and forward-thinking, and cheer each other on with inspiring stories of what God is doing across Europe. We dream and conspire together. We explore how we might resource one another and develop healthy teamwork. We pray and laugh together. We long to see prophetically (from God’s point of view) and act apostolically (with a passion to see our nations discipled). VISION of Connect Europe (what is our dream?) Our vision is the transformation of Europe. We dream of a passionate army of Jesus-followers that wholeheartedly embrace the call to start and multiply disciple-making movements in every nation in Europe and in every sphere of life. MISSION of Connect Europe (why do we exist?) Since 2002 we're on a journey to explore, and actually rediscover, the core of Jesus’ ministry, the dynamics of his Kingdom, and the way He intended his Body to function. We are convinced that Europe needs a new Jesus-centered reformation of the church and society. Already God is taking many emerging leaders through a foundational paradigm shift from organized religion to the 'moving Body' as Jesus intended it. When Connect Europe met for the first time in Herrnhut, in August 2002, God spoke to us corporately through Ez. 37 that He wants to unite the 'tribes' of Europe and use them as 'one stick in His hand'. So our mission is to connect emerging leaders with a calling for their nation and/or Europe, geographically and socially, and form an international friendship-based network that is committed to move with God. We also help kick-start and strengthen new movements of prayer, missions, community and justice in every nation of Europe. These are some of the topics we are currently exploring: - key lessons from the reformers in history - the DNA of Jesus' ministry and the dynamic of his Kingdom - key issues for reformation in today's church - starting organic, self-multiplying church planting movements - forming mobile multiple-ministry teams (prophets, apostles, evangelists, etc.) - how to get rid of a religious mindset and really live in Godly freedom - key issues for reformation in politics and society - financial/economic reformation and 'apostolic' funding strategies - the bards are coming: innovation in media and the arts - missional strategies into wicca, new age and neopaganism - understanding the identity of nations and how this aligns with God’s purposes in Europe We believe it’s time to break open new ground and move into areas where we’ve never been before. God is pushing us out of the box, out of our comfort-zone, for the sake of his Kingdom in Europe. VALUES of Connect Europe (how do we do what we do?) Passionate We are passionate followers of Jesus and seek to develop an intimate relationship with Him. We are wholeheartedly committed to the advance of His Kingdom and always prepared to take risks. Obedient to the Holy Spirit Like Jesus, we only seek to do what we see the Father doing. We acknowledge the Holy Spirit’s right to break our rules and offend our sensibilities. We realize we are part of something much bigger then ourselves, of which only the Holy Spirit is in control. Relational We are an international community of friends with shared vision and values, not a program or an organization. We work with anyone sharing our vision and values regardless of culture, race, age, gender or church background. We build unity and enjoy diversity. Mission-minded We believe prayer and missions cannot be separated. We seek to ‘hear prophetically’ and ‘act apostolically’, to develop a lifestyle of mission-minded prayer and effective outreach and church planting. Creative We embrace God-inspired creativity and innovation. Team-based We encourage and value servant leadership, teamwork and mutual accountability. Reformational We believe the Church in Europe needs a new reformation. While appreciating our historic inheritance, we freely launch out in new things. We want to be change agents of the Kingdom in our culture. We want to be a place where God-given vision can be shared and come to life.
